Hello Designers!

We appreciate you!  Thank you for taking the time to set up your customer's files so carefully, because not only does it make them look good (and they love you for that!), it helps streamline the ordering and production process!

File Setup Requirements:

Please double check the settings of your files to make sure they include the following:

  • 1/8th inch bleeds, and double check that any elements of your customer's design that are supposed to "bleed" off the edges of the finished product actually extend PAST this bleed line!
  • CMYK color formatting
  • If you are setting up files for an order with Digital Enhancements (such as digital varnish or foil), a few extra steps are necessary before your files can be considered "print-ready." Please take a moment to review our Reference Guide.  See below for more information about Enhancements. 

When you're finished, please package your files so we receive a zipped folder with everything we need to open and access your file.  By packaging your folder, that automatically gives us a PDF, original files, separation files for Enhancements, and any elements like images and fonts that were included in your design.

 Let's Talk Enhancements!

We offer several types of digital enhancements that your customer can add to their business cards:  

  • Digital Finishes - choose from gloss, satin, soft touch, leatherette and linen.
  • Digital Varnish - this is similar to a clear gloss coating.
    • Your choice of lamination is included for free with Varnish orders!
  • Digital Foil - available colors are gold, silver, copper, blue, green and red.
    • Your choice of lamination is included for free with Foil orders! 

A Few Pointers When Designing to Include Enhancements:

We recommend:
  • Selecting larger graphics, such as logos, large headings or patterns.
  • Choosing thicker/bold fonts without serifs.
  • Less is more!  Choose a few specific placements to make the enhancements really stand out!

We do NOT recommend:

  • Selecting small type or intricate designs
  • Adding varnish over gloss lamination - it does not stand out.  Instead, consider pairing varnish with soft touch, leatherette or linen lamination!
  • Choosing too many elements to enhance...remember, less is more! 

What Products Can Be Enhanced?

So obviously we can add Enhancements to standard business cards, but just for your FYI, keep our Enhancements in mind if you design any of the following products for your customers:
  • Digital Foldover Cards
  • Digital Sell Sheets & Brochures - with card stock only
  • Digital Postcards & Rack Cards
  • Digital Folded Note Cards
